On Sunday, June 15th, we would like to invite to join in a guided tour through the old city. During the tour in Old Tallinn you can admire medieval merchant houses, old market places, crooked, narrow cobble-stone streets, old churches and much more. From Toompea (Cathedral Hill) you can enjoy an excellent bird's eye view of Tallinn, have a look at the Toompea Castle, nowadays the Parliament of Estonia, visit Alexander Nevsky Orthodox Cathedral, the 13th century Gothic style Dome Church before you descend to Lower Town - well-preserved Medieval Hanseatic town. The highlights of Lower Town are Town Hall Square, the Gothic Town Hall (early 15th century), the Great Guild building, the Blackheads' Fraternity House - both from the 15th century, an old pharmacy opened in 1422, St Catherin's arts and craft center, old town wall ...

The tour starts at 16h30 at the Scandic Palace hotel (3 Vabaduse väljak, 10141 Tallinn) and will last for 1,5 hours.

After the tour, we hope to see you at the welcome reception held in the White Hall of the  Estonian National Opera (4 Estonia Avenue, 10148 Tallinn) which will start at 18h30.

Tallinners are very proud of their Opera House. The Opera House is a splendid building, originally built by Finnish architects in 1913 and restored after the war to its former glory. The double-winged giant enjoyed another revamp during 1997-2005 and the chance to see a performance in the refurbished, 700 strong theatre hall shouldn't be missed!

Finally, on Monday, June 16th, our conference dinner will take place at the House of the Brotherhood of Black Heads (26 Pikk tn., 10133 Tallinn), the only Renaissance building preserved in Tallinn.

See you in Tallinn!
