New exchange opportunities – DAAD opens centre in Lima

New DAAD Information Centre advises students and scientists in Peru on exchange opportunities with Germany. With the opening of an information center in Lima the DAAD responds to the great Peruvian interest in Germany as a location for studying and research. With more than 1,000 Peruvian students enrolled at German universities, Peru ranks fourth after Brazil, Mexico and Colombia in the Latin American comparison.

The center is the productive result of cooperation agreements, established over the last years, with Peru’s major education and research organizations, and serves the further strengthening and sustainability of academic exchanges between the counties. The center will be based at the Catholic University of Peru (PUCP), one of Latin-American’s top institutions.

Under assignment of the European Commission and in close cooperation with ACA, Archimedes Foundation, British Council, Campus France and EP-Nuffic the DAAD will implement a European education fair in Peru, September 2016.  With the participation of over 60 European higher education institutions expected, the fair will be a central working area during the information center‘s first year of running.
