The purpose of the project was to produce a report on the existing consumer protection courses and modules in higher education across the European Union, and identify the still uncovered areas. On the basis of the analysis of offer and needs, the final aim of the project was to advice the European Commission on the creation and funding of a European Master’s course in consumer protection.
The project consisted of four elements:
- a survey of all undergraduate and graduate teaching offers in consumer education the EU-25,
- a needs analysis for consumer education at tertiary level in Europe,
- the creation of an expert register on consumer education affairs, and
- the said recommendations for Master-level offers to be created by means of European Commission funds.
